ISRAWINEXP 2008, an international professional exhibition, brings together the bigwigs of the wine industry – producers, importers, restaurateurs, and many more. The exhibition will be a showcase for wines and wineries from Israel and abroad, providing a spotlight on Israel's growing wine industry, which has been making quite a name for itself. Naturally, wine tasting is de rigueur at such an event, so come and enjoy the fare at the fair. The event will be open for industry professional and visitors from abroad on February 26, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., when entrance will be by invitation only; and to the general public on February 27-78, 2008, from 4 to 10 p.m.
If wine is not your cup of tea, perhaps you're into stamps? The World Philately Championships will be held at the Fairgrounds between May 14-21, 2008, and will be a mega-event: Over 70 countries will be participating, presenting a variety of 2,600 stamp displays, valued at over 100 million dollars. The exhibition promises to be attractive to the whole family: there will be guided tours of the exhibition area, and special surprises and activities for children. The Israel Philatelic Service will be issuing new items especially for the occasion, and you will be able to have a personalized stamp issued on the spot – among other interesting offerings such as elegant first-day envelopes and special discount on philatelic paraphernalia. You can also take this opportunity to have your valuable stamps assessed without charge.
