Israel turned a page in the history books last night as they launched the new Condé Nast Traveller supplement and celebrated Israel’s 60th anniversary at a reception event attended by the ambassador, Ron Prossor, along with 100 of the leading aviation and travel industry figures, editors and journalists. Conde Nast has recently celebrated its 10th anniversary and this is the first time in it history that it has covered Israel.
Speeches were made by the publisher, Kate Slesinger, the Director of the Israel Government Tourist Office for UK and Ireland, Uzi Gafni and Ambassador Prossor. He fondly described Israel and welcomed Nick Ferrari, Vanessa Feltz and the editors and publishers of other Condé Nast publications such as Elle and Vogue.
As Israel comes of age, it has also been well received by many luxury publications. This Condé Nast supplement and event followed a 10 page piece especially for food lovers in Food and Travel magazine as well as a 9 page piece in Ultratravel, the supplement for The Sunday Telegraph.
A 29% increase in tourism numbers since this time last year has propelled airlines to provide new flights to Tel Aviv. BMI is to launch flights this week and follows in the flight path of Thomsonfly. Far from being ‘business as usual’ in Israel, business has never been better!
